Birth control? I feel pressure to go on birth control. I am 15 and not planning on having sex. But almost all my friends are on it and I feel left out? Should i go on it. (I also have realy bad periods and heard this might help true?)
Birth-Control? How do i tell my mom that i want to get birth-control? Im 15 and i realy need it for my periods!! They are always iregular like i will mark the day on the calender when im supposed to start and it always comes a week earlier our a week later! Im so tired of it. What birth control would you recommend in my situation? I am getting married this fall and will need a birth control method. I am not planning on having kids for about 5 years and would like a hassle free, low hormone (breast cancer in family) birth control. I was on the pill for many years and that did cause weight gain...that is not desired! I looked into the IUD (5 year one) but heard that it does not prevent conception but just prevents the embryo from maturing. Is this true? Are there any recommendations out there? Has anyone tried the Nuva Ring and not seen noticeable weight gain? Please help! Thank You.

What are birth control options for someone with high blood pressure? So, I just went in to get birth control and I was told that my blood pressure is a little higher than they would like. I'm going back in next week to get it re-checked, hoping things will have calmed down in my life. What are options for birth control (besides condoms) if someone has high blood pressure? How much will my birth control cost without using my insurance? I'm currently on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo birth control. I've heard it can be expensive. I need to put in my prescription soon but i don't want to use my insurace because i'm under my parents. If i do use my insurance, will my parents find out about the birth control? What brand of birth control pills do you recommend? I'm an eighteen year old female, and have been taking birth control since I was seventeen. Obviously, as a teenager, I have occasional breakouts of acne, which can be very irritating and inconvenient. What I've had some difficulty with is increased discharge with some birth control, in addition to mood swings and headaches. I've taken Yasmine, Ortho-TriCyclen Lo, and Seasonale. I liked the benefits of Seasonale, only getting a period 4x/year, but I noticed that I had mood swings and headaches a lot from it. I took Ortho-TriCyclen Lo, and had increased discharge for some reason or another. Yasmine wasn't too bad, as it has a diuretic, to lessen water weight. I'd like to hear about other people's experience with birth control, and what you recommend. My main goal with birth control other than the contraceptive use is for the acne medication, one that doesn't make you gain weight, or one that allows fewer periods. What do you suggest?
How can I get on birth control without my parents knowing in the state of il? Well me and my friend who is 15 were talking about being put on birth control with out our parents finding out. not because we are ready to have sex but because of what else the pill can do like help with cramps and long periods ect. Thats mostly the reason why and maybe if we are planning on having sex we would want to be protected ect. What type of birth control pill will not make you gain weight? I take Yasmin and it doesn't make me gain weight but it is expensive. I've tried several older birth control pills that were cheaper, but they made me hungry and I started eating like a cow. Birth control -- side effects and a way to skip period and when will it start working? I'm thinking of going on birth control. In fact I'm almost 100 percent sure I'm going to go to the doctor in a week or so. Anyway I had a few simple questions first. I'm going to Hawaii this summer on July 28th, and my period is due to start (luckily) July 28th! So if I go on birth control after my next period, would I be able to skip my period for when I'm in Hawaii, because that would be a hassle. What is the best birth control to use while breasfeeding? I had a baby 7 weeks ago. I have been breastfeeding since he was born and would like to continue to breastfeed until he is 6 months old. My midwife said the estrogen in birth control pills can affect my milk supply. I also do not want a birth control that will cause weight gain...any suggestions? I wanted to add that I have not had sex since having the baby. I only asked the question because my midwife suggested that I choose a birth control at my 6 week post partum visit and I was not prepared to choose one. I have been breastfeeding the whole time and would like to say that I did receive my period...for those who say that it takes longer when your breastfeeding everyone is different. I received my period 7 weeks after having my baby.

One of my friends might be pregnant, and she insists she'll get an abortion one way or another, even if she has to have someone hit her in the stomach, which could cause more damage then she would mean too... With the recent law being passed here that says someone under the age of 18 can't get an abortion, she's kind of stuck. I just want the safest way for her to have an abortion or miscarriage, even though I don't believe in that... I just don't want her to hurt herself. I'm trying to get her to reconsider, but if all else fails I at least want her to be safe. Help. I realize abortion is wrong, I totally agree with that 100%, but I can't get her to consider another option. She's only 14, and she's worried about school, because she's already got her Colleges lined up. I realize that doesn't excuse her, but if there is another way for me to convince her, believe me, I'll try, just like I'll continue to anyway, but IF I should fail, I want to be able to give her a safe way to take care of it. And she can't go to her family, because they will completely disown her... So she's desperate... which isnt good. I wouldn't use anything like this unless it's absolutely last resort. I plan on doing everything I can to stop her from doing this, even if it would mean adopting the child myself... but she doesn't seem too keen on the idea of adoption either. But then that's where the whole family disowning comes in, I'm sure.

What type of birth control should I switch to? I'm currently taking a mini-pill with just progesterone but my doctor said when my son reaches 6 months it becomes less effective and I should switch to a different method. Well he's six months old now. I plan on still nursing him and I've heard that the pill with both hormones can lower your milk supply. Birth control pill - changing time of day when travelling? I am planning a trip to Europe in February, but I'm starting on the birth control pill for the first time tomorrow (Yasmin). I want to take it at 5:30pm here because I'm most likely to remember it then, but then it will be 1:30am while I'm away and I'm afraid I won't always be awake or likely to remember to take it at this time. Is it possible to switch the time of day I take the pill if I change the time for the entire month that I am away: ie if I start taking the pill at 9am my time in February so it will be 5pm while I'm in Europe? And then the next month can I return to taking it at 5:30 my time? I know you are supposed to take it at the same time everyday, but I wasn't sure if this meant always or just throughout each cycle. Can I start my new pack of birth control on a Monday if I am usually a Sunday starter? I've been on Ortho Tricyclen Lo birth control for about 2 months. I usually start my new pack of birth control on the Sunday after my period ends. But this time, my period ended on a Monday, so I started my new pack on that Monday. Am I still protected the same, or did I mess up? Was I still suppose to start the new pack on Sunday even if I still had a very light period?
How long does it take for the birth control patch to start working? I've been on the patch now for two weeks and one day. The first day of my period was on a Friday and I started using the patch on the following Sunday which was two weeks ago. I had sex with my husband tonight without using a condom. How long after stopping birth control pills till side affects go away? I just stopped (a week ago) taking birth control pills because they elevated my blood pressure and were causing mood swings. Any idea of how long until I can expect to feel "normal" again? How long until the effects wear off? A year?? Don't tell me that! I've only been on BC for about a year and a half. I've always been prone to depression and anxiety, but the past several months I've literally felt like I was losing my sanity and would panic over nothing and could hardly function. birth control? okay well I just got off my period today I got put on birth control cause of my heavy periods. I took the birth control on sunday the way the doctor order. Birth Control!? Last week i got off of my birth control because the pills made me sick, for some reason. Now me and my bf had sex last night and the condom broke. I am NOT on birth control. But i do have an apointment this wendsday to get on new birth control. It is possible for me to be pregnant i know. But my question is sence they have to take a pregnancy test b4 giving me the birth control, will it be accurate sence its so close? And if it is to early to tell and the test does come back negative should i wait a couple days b4 starting the birth control and take a nother pregnancy test? Because i know birth control is not good for the baby? And plz dont say get the morning after pill. Birth control?? Just wondering about birth control... My sister was just put on birth control, and she missed 2 pills, but took them later on. As well, she has a nasty flu, and has been taking over the counter medication... Can any of this stuff effect the birth control and result in pregnancy (Especially having unprotected sex?) birth control? I have been using birth control since after my 7 month old daughter was born. This is my first time using birth control. Birth Control? I'm 14, and i'm not sexually active. My periods last about 8 days and are extremely heavy the entire time and then just stop. They don't get light or anything. I also have irregular cycles. I never know when my periods are coming. I don't get cramps or anything so I don't have any indicator that my period is coming. I would really like to start taking some birth control to help regulate and minimize my periods as much as possible over time. Even though i'm only 14, i'm already done growing. My doctor has already told me that so it's not like birth control will mess with my growing. I've also talked to my doctor and he recommended me going to a gynecologist and getting birth control. Please don't lecture me about being young and how everyone has annoying periods and I shouldnt take them. You don't know what i'm going through. Birth Control? I happen to be irregular and I have been considering using birth control to correct this. Now, normally it doesn't bother me [ that I am irregular] but lately its gotten pretty bad, skipping months showing up early and I know with added stress it is going to become even more hay-wire. I have no way of avoiding the added stress so I figured I'd try to make it more predicatable. What I'd like to know is has anyone else use birth control for this reason i.e. having regular period were your main reason for starting birth control? Was it effective? How effective, on a scale of 1-5 with five being th emost effective and 1 the least? What type of birth control did you use? What side effects did you have if any? Oh and if your only contribution to my question is see a doctor, I already know I need to do that so don't waste your time typing that responce. I am asking this because I want someone elses experience. A Doc's advice is all well and good but if it's a guy who is sit across from you in a lab coat, you might as well be talking to a door, b/c he can't tell you from experience what you may encounter unless the he was formerly a she. If it's an older female 40s and up well what she took her first time around may very well be off the market now. No offence but this is one field of pharmacitials which doesn't exactly stand still. Birth control? I know that amoxicillin cancels out the birth control pill, however this is my "off" week for birth control. (As in the sugar pills, and the week of my period.) I have been prescribed amoxicillin for an infection, and I was wondering if I take the pills this whole week, then start the birth control pill on Sunday, will my birth control be effected at all? birth control? i've read that birth control [the pill] can help reduce acne, period heaviness, period pain, ovarian cysts, and uteran cancer. are these all true? i would like to try birth control to reduce all of these. what are other reasons women take birth control for? do any birth control pills come in chewable form? i've read they do. i ask this because it's difficult for me to swallow pills, even if they are tiny. thank you.
Birth Control? I just started birth control for the first time last month. Levora to be exact. I was told that there would be side effects (moodiness, weight gain, etc) which have hit me extremely hard. However, ever since I started birth control, I've had an extremely dark discharge - but there is no odor. Is this normal? I'm extremely concerned and just want to make sure its because of the birth control or if something else is going on. Also, when I started the birth control it was the 30th of last month. It seems I've begun the day of my period early this month - two weeks early. Is that suppose to happen too?
Birth control? I just had a baby a month ago and I'm nervous about birth control. At age 20 my mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and I believe it was due to the pill. Because of that, I'm at risk of getting it too. AND I smoke. Therefore I'm kind of uncomfortable with taking birth control with hormones, and it seems that all birth control methods have some very not-fun risks to deal with. My doctor reccommended that I get an IUD [mirena] and after reading about it I don't think I want one anymore. I've considered the shot as well, but my doctor doesn't want me to be on anything that could make me gain weight because I gained 100 pounds in my pregnancy and even today I'm WAY above my BMI. I'm thinking I should just use condoms as my form of birth control, because it seems safest, but there will be times where we won't have any. So does anyone else have any reccommendations or experiences with BC? Okay first of all, I didn't come here to get put down by snotty stuck up wannabe know-it-all unintelligent and judgemental poor excuses for human beings. My main concern is blood clotting and cervical cancer. My mother has been pregnant about ten times hoping to have another baby untill my little brother was born and she only has four children. My little brother and I were the ones who she actually was able to carry while in remission, every other pregnancy she's had has either miscarried or been aborted because the baby wouldn't have lived anyway. I don't want to go through that, and I want to hear other people's experiences with successful, non-hormonal birth control. And I'm not a negligent parent, I have a smoking sweatshirt that I wear when I smoke OUTSIDE and take it off before I handle my son. And Purrell is my best friend. So yah, thanks for coming here to pretend like you know what I do with my few minutes during the day! Oh yeah - I don't plan on having sex again untill my period starts again. But I'm getting birth control in two weeks and want to know the pros and cons of differnt contraceptives.

Birth Control? I have a few questions, I've had my period for almost 3 years now, and about 4 or 5 months ago it started getting heavier and more painful. I have decided that I can't take it anymore, but being almost 17 I have to have parental consent. What are some side affects of birth control? Can it be dangerous? I don't have any allergies to any medication. What are some alternatives to birth control that I might be able to get? What exactly does it help? The last question is how can I convince my parents to get me on birth control? They don't know that I'm not a virgin, and they don't want me to get birth control for the reason that I might become "not a virgin". The last time I had sex was a month and a half ago. Unprotected. I know I'm not pregnant, reason being it was before my period started. If some of my questions could be answered it would be very much appreciated. As far as unprotected sex goes, yeah we won't do that again. We got scared that I was pregnant. So, we will be using condoms from now on. Just to clear that up. We DO NOT want kids. We're only 16. I'm 17 and my doctor wants to put me on birth control...I had to tell her to let me think about it...I can't really come up with A GOOD REASON not too...I have ovary issues...And I guest she wants me on birth control so I won't be in as much pain... Birth Control? I just had a baby 2 months ago so it's time for me to get on birth control. I wasn't previously on any birth control and hadn't been for atleast 2 yrs before i got pregant. i was previously on the shot but it makes you feel unhealty and your only supposed to be on it for 2 yrs which i was... My girlfriend is interested in using pill birth control ("The Pill") because 1) She has heard that birth control eases the cramps/whatnot of the menstrual cycle, lessens flow, etc. 2) We both want to start having sex without a condom, at least once in a while.. it really kills the mood if it gets to that point and neither of us have one. birth control? I began using the Nuvaring birth control at the start of my last cycle (november 19) Soon after my period ended my fiance and I had intercourse, but he didn't pull out. The instructions say that the birth control takes effect after 7 days..I do believe this incident happened on the 7th day. It is the 18th now, and I began bleeding, thinking it was my period..5 hours later and there has been barely any flow and it is dark. I usually have a pretty heavy period. Could this be happening because of starting birth control, or should i get a pregnancy test?

Birth Control.....? I am 15 years old and i have been dating my boyfriend for 6 months but right now i live in washington and he lives in ohio. I used to live in ohio, i lived there when we started dating but now i live in washington because there were some family problems between my parents and i. I've been on my birth control ( orthro-cyclin) for about four months now and I'm always moody except for when I have my period, and I'm always hungry, I'm quite skinny and I've always been able to eat, but now its all the time and If I don't eat ( even short periods of time between eating) I will get that about to throw up feeling where my mouth starts to sweat and my stomach is just aching. Birth control? I was on birth control (Yasmin) for three months. I had my last period which started on July 12. The following Sunday I was suppose to start a new pack, but my insurance wouldn't cover it because I was suppose to have one more pack. So anyways, when I was on the pill my periods were very regular (off the pill I will start with in a certain week, not exactly 28 days after my last cycle, but close enough. Going off of when I had my periods while I was on the pill I should have started either yesterday or today. My question is how long after stopping birth control (Yasmin), will I have my first period. I have no signs that I am about to start. Usually I will get sore breasts and bloating, so far I have noticed none of these. I don't think I am pregnant, but I do know that there is always a chance. Birth control?!? I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years. I recently found out I've been on birth control for a year now and we've always used birth control and a condom and it was VERY PAINFUL for me....because I recently found out that I was alergic to latex condoms. Birth control? There are some birth control pills out there like Yaz to make a girl only have her period 3 times a year. They claim that there's no medical reason why a girl needs to have her period every month. I don't see how this is true! To me, it seems that it would be severely unhealthy to only have your period 3 times a year. Once a month is natural! Does anyone agree with me or are you in favor of these pills? birth control? I'm trying to decide what sort of birth control I want to use after the birth of my baby. I'm rather leery of using the pill again because I was on the pill and using it properly when I became pregnant. I just don't think I could trust it at all again, and I don't want to use condoms. So I'm kinda leaning toward the Mirena IUD. I'm just a bit unsettled by the fact that it doesn't always prevent ovulation or conception, just implantation. That just doesn't feel right to me, that I could possibly be conceiving every month and just not knowing it because the embryo couldn't implant. Birth control? This is my third time on birth control, I was on it for almost a year 3 years ago, 4 months last year, and Im back on it now. Just because I wasnt able to pay for it, so I stopped. I am taking ortho-trycyclin and I dont want to be weird, but I want the weight gain,. When I first took it years ago, I gained a lot of weight, but I stopped taking it, so I lost the weight. The problem is that I keep finding some way to avoid going, but since I made the promise, I'm beholden to do it. What are some ways that you can think of that will ease my nerves about going? What kinds of exams do they do before they give you birth control? I'm also waiting til after my next period which is supposed to start on the 9th of feb...I'm thinking about him going with me because it does take two to tango. Also, we had unprotected sex at the est. time of ovulation, so I could quite possibly be preggers...although I don't think I am, I haven't ruled it out. But I won't be able to positively find that out for another week and a half.

Birth control? I have to have a HSG (dye test) done next week, so the Dr put me on birth control pills so I won't ovulate next week while they do the test.
