And also if not IUD what birth control would you say works the best other than abstinence? I got pregnant on the pill and I heard the DEPO shot makes you gain a lot of weight so other than those?

Does anyone have experience with the IUD birth control Mirena? I've read that after a year of use that 80% of women will have a lighter period...and 20% will lose their period all together..I've been on it about 9 months..and I've missed my last period..Should I just assume that it's the birth control..Or might I be pregnant?
Anyone use the IUD birth control Mirena? I am considering getting the IUD Mirena inserted. My current form of birth control is the patch (for 2-3 years) and I love it but my fiance and I are not looking to have kids for the next several years and would prefer the convienience of not having to change the patch weekly. I was wondering if anyone on answers is currently on it or has been on it in the past. Likes/dislikes, cost (did insurance cover a portion of it), side effects. Anything would be helpful. Thanks I should also mention that I have tried the shot (hated it, made me gain soooo much weight), the ring (wouldn't stay in), the pill (forget to take it) so thats how I ened up with the patch. I am planning on having kids someday so I don't want anything surgical and I liked the idea of the IUD becuase while it is effective for 5 years, it can be taken out at anytime if we decide we are ready for kids.
Why are you required to have at least one child to be eligible to use an IUD birth control method? Are there more health risks if you've never had a child?

Does using the birth control IUD Mirena give you a lot of bacterial infections? I have Minera. I love it. Convience, not having to think about it and not having a period is great. However, I have been getting a lot of bacterial infections and I want to have it taken out because I think it is causing them. Has anyone ever gone on the Mirena IUD birth control and never had any periods afterwards, not even spotting? I got my IUD early April and no periods at all ever since. According to the info I was to expect spotting for several months and a decline in menstrual flow and maybe after a year, no periods at all. Mirena IUD birth control? I just got the birth control IUD put in and ever since then my bleeding has been really heavy is this normal? I came on my period on a wednesday.I got the IUD inserted on the monday after.I had stop bleeding the wednesday after I got the IUD inserted. Then that thursday night I had start bleeding agin and monday my bleeding became really really heavy with really bad cramping.Now it is sunday and my bleeding has slowed down just a little.It is still kinda of heavy but it is not as heavy has it was Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday Thursday.Friday and part of Saturday.But i wanted to know is this normal after u get a IUD inserted.

IUD birth control, your thoughts? from pro-life people, please.? i wanted to use the iud birth control, cause i have two kids a boy and just had my girl 5 weeks ago and as of right now do not want anymore. i like the idea is has no hormones and you can have it in there for up to 10 yrs. my OB/GYN told me is was a great birth control. but this is how it works, when the iud is inside your uterus is causes your uterus not be a safe environment. but there is still a chance the sperm and egg can meet in the fallopian tube and start multiply, when it gets in the uterus there is no place for it to implants itself, so then it goes with your period. so im having a hard time on what to think about this? im pro-life, and not sure if i would consider this murder or not? i mean the cells have already started to multiple, but idk im confused on my own thoughts.

I am using an IUD form of birth control. Any thoughts or ideas? I have been using this form of birth control since April of thise year. It is the one that carries hormones not the copper kind. But my periods have been messed up and irregular. For example, my last period was a month and a half, 10 days of no bleeding and now I am on it again but tomorrow will be day 14. I was on depo before changing and I have a period evey 3 months, but this sucks! Any thoughts on what to do or ideas on what would help this issue get resolved. I know the whole doctor thing duh... But I am way way busy with work and such so I would like to try something other then make the appointment first. Thanks in advance and only serious answers please. Oh yea. I am past the 4-5 month time frame for my body to become used to it.
IUD birth control questions.? I am 26 weeks pregnant and am thinking about my options for birth control after she is born. I cant take the pill or the shot or anything "too" hormonal for that matter because I have a history of blood clots in my wrist from artery damage in my shoulder. What Im wondering is why do they say that candidates for the IUD (copper preferably) should be in a commited relationship. Im 23 and going through divorce as we speak. Im not saying I sleep around but I just wana be safe just in case I meet up with an old flame or something. I dont want to have another baby for a long time. Why arent Women on welfare REquired to have an IUD (birth control) as long as they are receiving welfare?!?!!? Why is it that women on welfare are allowed to keep breeding MORE children when they cant take care of their child/children as it is?!!! There are birth control methods that are TEmporary and can be removed at a later time, so what is wrong with giving them the CHOICE to either have an IUD put in or not receive MORe money!! This country is falling apart when it makes more sense for me (who recently graduated college) to have a baby and get STATE money than it is to get a JOB!!! In response to the first person's comment: No, at least Financially, they CANNOT take care of their children!!! Their first child is being paid for by OTHER people and there is no reason for the STATE to promote that individual to have MORE children, regardless of the type of parent that person may be!!!

I need advice on my IUD birth control? I THINK IT FELL OUT. IT WAS GIVING ME PROBLEMS LIKE I WAS HAVING REALLY BAD CRAMPS IN MY ABDOMEN AND MY PERIOD WAS REALLY OFF SCHEDULE. Do you know anything about IUD (Birth Control)? Ive been taking oral conceceptives for a couple years. for health reasons, Ive decided to stop taking them. Im exploring alternate birth ccontrol options and this one is appealing to be. The risks are pretty serious though (PID, sterility etc). Please, tell me what you know.

Birth Control IUD Copper 10Yr? I am wating to know if anyone had had any experiance with the 10yr IUD. I just had a baby in Oct and really didnt want to get on birth control but really dont want have another one jsut yet. I talked with my OBGYN and we came to the conclution to try and IUD. I'm having bleeding problems ever since I had the birth control IUD.? Is something wrong with my birth control IUD and my body? I've just gotten on this IUD about a month ago and I'm bleeding ever since. My doctor said on the day of the procedure that I will be spotting for a few hours but it's been months 1- 1/2. I read somewhere it said that women will bleed for a few weeks after IUD is insert but it's taken forever for me. I'm scare that something might be wrong with my IUD. I don't bleed everyday, but since I got the IUD about a month ago I had only about 3 days that I recall i didn't bleed other than that it's like mini periods for me everyday and someday it really seems like I'm on my periods. I'm pretty scare. I think I better contact my doctor uh??
IUD Birth Control..? I'm just curious has anyone gotten an IUD put in right after delivery or within the 6 week period before your check-up? Or do you know someone that has? Copper IUD birth control??? I want to get a copper IUD (the one w/out hormones), and was really happy with everything I've heard so far, and I fit all of the criteria. Then I found out that some one close to me got pregnant within 2 months of getting one, and it freaked me out a little. Mirena IUD birth control spotting- sporatic 1.5 years later? I have been on the Mirena IUD about 1.5 years. My periods have dwindled down to nothing. The past 4 months, I get "brown" spotting for about days. (very light) This goes on anywhere between 1 week- 2.5 weeks. I called my doctor and even had a pelvic ultrasound to rule out any ovarian cysts. Nothing. This month- same thing. Brown spotting all of last week sporatically, and the week before EXCEPT- today I have light pinky red spotting. I'm defintaly not pregnant. Should I be concerned or is this just Mirena?

Question about Mirena (IUD) birth control? I've had my IUD in for almost a year. In this year I have sometimes missed my period, but normally i'd have a real light period maybe once to every other month that would last about 3 days. It was also rare when I'd need a pad for those periods. I also didn't bloat up that much and had no cramping either. This month I'm extremely bloated, with bad cramping and a heavy period thats lasted almost 5 days. I also don't feel good, I almost feel like i'm going to get sick at times. This is throwing me through a loop and was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this on a IUD. I'm even having low somewhat sharp pelvic pain ontop of the cramping, and I'm seeing a lot of "old" blood on my pads. thanks

Mirena/IUD Birth control? I had Mirena inserted in february, six weeks after my baby was born. My last menstration was in september and in october I started lactating(very little) and it hasn't stopped. I took a pregnancy test at the end of october and it was negative. I know it is normal to skip periods with Mirena. My question is : Is it normal to lactate while using Mirena?and has this happend to you? Urgent!!! Question about Paragard IUD birth control...please help!? I have had the paragard inserted now for about 7 or 8 months. I was never able to feel the string when doing the self check even when I was at the doctors and they inserted it and asked me to feel for it. I told them the only I could feel felt like a scar and the nurse said "oh yeah thats probably it" And everytime I feel for it thats still all I feel, but it doesn't feel like a string? I would start spotting around the 27th of every month and then it would get really heavy around the 1st for a few days and then go back to spotting, also would have spotting and bloody discharge in between periods. So it's gonna the 30th and I have no signs of starting, not spotting or bloddy discharge and I usually do by now. Im scared it might have fallen out and I got pregnant. Has anyone ever had anything similar to this happen. I also don't have insurance anymore and I can't afford the doctors visit let alone if they have to do anything. Does anyone know anything about this thing?!?

I want to get on birth control (IUD)!? I want to get on the IUD so i don't have to worry about taking the pill everyday! I have some questions about it though, does it hurt you having it in, does it make it uncomfortable for me and my husband to have sex, and does it make you gain weight like the pill can? I am only 21 is that to young to get on the IUD? Please answer back!
anyone using merina birth control (IUD)? if so, when you feel it just to check if it is place does it feel like a string tied or like a loose string where you can feel one end of the string? i think mine is messed up b/c i felt down there and it feels as if it's been broken or something. usually when i felt it to make sure it's in place it felt like a string all the way across. now it feels like just one part of the string, as if it was the bottom hanging. i'm not sure what's going on, and i wont see my dr. for a little while now so i was just curious if anyone else has had this dilema. thanks.

Could my IUD (internal birth control) be contributing to anxiety problems? I got my IUD in November of 2005 and since that time, I have developed strange anxiety disorders. On and off of medications, strange allergic reactions. Could this be a hormonal embalance? Any other reasoning? I have had many tests ran from blood to EEG tests. Please help anyone. Opinions welcome.
A question on the IUD Merina birth control..please help me? I am on mirena the iud that stay in up to five years. It is said to be more effective than a vesectomy and you can have it redone in five years or have it removed early and still remain fertile. I have been on this for over a year now and have had some problems. At first everything was normal...five months later I stopped my period for three months and the doctor said that it was normal not to worry that everyone usually quits all together. Well the next month I had a light period for three days...once a week. Now it can be every other day. I know I need to go to the doctor but some advice would be helpful so I know where this is headed. Also, I don't have the money to run to the doc every time I have a problem so I wanted to decide whether this was normal or not. Thanks anyone.
