I've been given Tri-Sprintec because my first birth control I was given is slightly rare--What is the best birth control with fewest side effects? I've heard of birth control side effects being gain of water weight, increased or suppressed appetite, etc. Does anyone know if Tri Sprintec has these as side effects? It makes me queasy, light-headed, and generally uncomfortable. I know with birth control it can take awhile for your body to become accustomed to it, so I'm willing to take it for another month or two. I have been on the pill for...7 years and am just starting to think some things i've been dealing with are side effects and not just me. has anyone experiences these? if you stopped taking the pill did they go away? i'm thinking about getting an IUD instead, any users? side effects that i know are from the pill are a decreased sex drive, weight gain, nipple tenderness but now i'm wondering if my huge mood swings, bad enough where i'm driving and will start crying out of nowhere or be at a bar having fun and all of a sudden get sad, want to cry, and want to leave and i also get mad at the drop of a hat, i'll be with a ton of friends and having fun and my boyfriend can say something, even joking, and i'll get so mad that i want to beat the crap out of him but if i get myself to calm down in like 30 minutes everyhthing is fine and i realize it wasn't a big deal. i didn't realize there are higher chances of bad side effects is you are already stuggle w/depression or alcoholism.

birth control side effects questions? the birth control i am prescribed to causes me to break out severly. i was taken off it due to medical issues and now my doctors wants to put me back on it (orthotrycycline) she doesnt feel comfortable switching the type im using cuz i need the low dosages of hormones because of other medical issues at the moment. if i get stuff like proactive can i counteract the breaking out and skin issues or is it useless cuz its hormonal? my doctor said im breaking out cuz the hormones so if its an interal reaction is there any topical meds that will counteract it and keep my skin under control?

My period ended, for about two days, and then I started bleeding again last night.. I am still taking the pill and have not missed... Is it my body just getting back on track or...??? Birth Control Side Effects...? Birth control is extremely effective in that it obliterates your libido so you don't even want to be intimate in the first place, lol. However, I was wondering if there were any natural avenues to take to restore libido. I have been on BC in the past, and my doc's putting me back on it again, and I just want to be prepared, just incase. Thanks! I don't smoke or drink however, my doctor lectured me over and over about how it does NOT make you gain weight. I beg to differ, since I've been on it. But, the reasons I'm going back on it far outweigh the risks.

birth control side effects? about 2 months ago, i started taking the birth control trivora, to shorten my menstrual cycle, it worked, but i've missed 2 cycles.. i know i'm not pregnant, but i don't know the cause of it. please read, birth control side effects? been on birth control for about 5 months.In November I was sick one day (the 30th)&threw up my pill right away. I didn't make up the pill. I got my period on the 9th of December& it was normal. That month, me and my boyfriend used condoms everytime we had sex, since i have no idea how long i was "unprotected" from missing the pill. I got my period next on January 7th &it was normal length and flow. But I am still concerned that I am pregnant for some reason.I have taken many first response pregnancy tests, all showing up negative(the last 1 i took was ths morn, a week and two days after my period).but my breasts have been sore since the first day of my period for about a week & this concerns me.I went into the dctor &they told me not to worry at all, it is probably just from the birth control& since my period was normal not to worry at all.how possible is it to have your period, get a neg result, & still be preg? im going to get my annual pelvic 2morrow so wish me luck!

Changes in Birth Control side effects? I have taken birth control pills (Ortho Tricyclen-lo) for the better part of the last 4 1/2 years (I was off of them from June to October last year because I didn't have insurance). For the last two months, during the second and third weeks of pills, my breasts have been extremely swollen (I've had to buy bigger bras) and they hurt--ranging from just pain when I poke them to a constant ache. Some of this improved when I got a larger bra, but it didn't go away. They're also kind of itchy/tingly; I've been putting cocoa butter on and it seems to help. My question is, has anybody else had a sudden change in birth control symptoms like this? It's not severe enough pain for me to rush to the doctor, but I'm thinking if it continues next month I might go. I've never had this degree of swelling and soreness with the pills before...

AWFUL Birth Control Side Effects Anyone?? I've been on birth control for the past few months and the pain is horrible! I've gained at least 10 lbs, cramps during my period are unbearable, its an extremely heavy flow, my breasts have grown an entire cup size, and my temper is bad! Has anyone else had these problems?? I thought BC was supposed to eliminate bad periods :(

seasonique birth control side effects? My baby is 7 weeks old, and I started on seasonique, because my cramps were so bad with my period. I have looked online with the side effects, but didnt see anything about how Im feeling. But I feel jittery, awake, kinda like I took a diet pill or something...is this the pill? Birth control side effects? I have been on the pill (tricyclen) for three months, and I have currently been crying everyday and been worried constantly about everything, to the point of emotional outbursts. Constantly worrying my boyfriend will break up with me, even though our relationship is spectacular. Could this be a side effect of the pill I am on? YAZ birth control side effects? I looked in the other questions and no one touched upon this.. When sexually excited, I remain rather dry. This is annoying and unpleasant. Birth Control Side Effects?? I'm on BC to control my irregularity. The 1st kind wasn't helping my PMS so we switched. Now that I've started this kind, I have a discharge everyday. It's like what happens at the end of your period when it's alot darker. It's that same thing but alot less of it, and it happens everyday. When I first started the other kind I was on my period for 27 days, so clearly it took awhile to adjust. Could I just be adjusting to this new pill (I'm only in my 2nd week on the new kind).

I had my period dec 19-22nd. shortly after started the patch (othro evra i believe) I had it on for less than a day but decided to take it off because i got a bad pain where i had the patch. I spotted for the next few days on and off. My boyfriend and I had upprotected sex when i started the patch.. Here it is the 23rd of January and i havent had my period. I took a pregnancy test two weeks ago, and it was negitive but was told it could be too early to be dectected. I do have symptoms of being pregnant, but it could be all in my head. The patch hasnt been recalled yet, but i have seen several lawsuits against the company because of the severity of the complications. And if they have recalled it, theres a big problem because whenever you go to a planned parenthood or health clinic that is the first thing they suggest as a form of birth control. HELP! Birth control; side effects; does anybody take Estrostep Fe? My Doc prescribed me Estrostep Fe (a month ago) for my occasional brake outs. I have not noticed my skin looking any better, I feel like Iâ??ve been braking out more since Iâ??ve been taking it. I have also noticed my menstrual cramps havenâ??t really improved. My research suggests BC like Yasmin, Othro-Tri Cyclen, and Mircette for acne and menstrual cramps. I read that A LOT of women have experienced extreme depression and complete loss of sex drive on Yasmin and Orthro. I donâ??t feel that my sex drive has been hurt on Estro but I am worried that I will continue to brake out on it (even though itâ??s the only FDA approved BC to help acne). Yasmin, Ortho, and Mircette all have lower androgen potency - kills off a lot of testosterone - which helps clear oily acne prone skin but kills sex drive (testosterone = sex drive.) Estro doesnâ??t have this, I think that is why I still have my sex drive. Anyway, is anyone taking Estrostep Fe or another? What are you experiencing? Should I switch? Thanks!

Possibly pregnant or Birth Control Side Effects? Help Please!!? I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo since Feb due to irregular periods. On June 10th I was to start a new pack but I was getting sick so I took a break that month from them. I found out later that month I have a functional ovarian cyst on my left ovary and I was prescribed 2 antibiotics. On July 1st, I was to restart the pills with my period but it never came, plus I was taking the antibiotics. On July 8th I had sex(pull-out method) and started brown/pink discharging on the 13-14th, it stopped for a day then came back until I got a short period(about 4-5 days) on July 22nd. For about 3 weeks now I've had terribly sore breasts, nausea(worse in the mornings, mild by night), fatique, continuous bloat, and starting today light cramps. My period is due August 20th and I have a doctor's appt. on the 22nd for a ultrasound. I've taken two tests and they showed negative. What's going on with me? I'll post more details! I researched Ortho Lo and the side effects are nausea, headaches, occasional bloat, etc. But as I said I started the pills in Feb. and I've never had anything like this except breakthrough bleeding. Since I'm irregular I don't know my ovulating days, but by following the pills 'guide', ovulation would've been July 8th-14th(if possible), I had sex on the 8th. I used two due date calculators to see if I actually am pregnant, when I conceived. I used the day I was to have a period but never got it, July 1st and it said I could've conceived on July 15th, making me 6 weeks. So, I used the day I actually got the short period July 22nd and it said I conceived Aug. 5th,making me 3 weeks and to test on August 19th(as my period comes the 20th). I'm so confused!? Could someone explain symptoms and these dates to me, or what could be wrong if it's not pregnancy. All and any info/opinions are welcomed! I'll def. post any additional info if you need it. Unusual birth control side effect? This is kind of an odd question. I was on birth control pills a few years ago for a year and noticed that while I was on it I got very tight down there, so tight that sexual activity was almost painful. I talked to my Dr. and she said that was nothing to worry about. Recently I have started another oral birth control (different from the first) and have noticed the same side effect but to a lesser degree. Has anyone else experianced this or any other odd side effect? Is there anything (besides not taking the pill) that will make it go away? Thanks! No dryness problem. Yaz birth control side effect question...? I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS and put on Yaz (March 1st to be exact). It seems to be doing okay so far, as far as mood swings and such that I had problems with on other pills, but my breasts have been vey sore for the past week. Is this a normal side effect? I do not ususally get sore breasts from birth control and I know I am not pregnant. Anyone else have this symptom?

I am interested in trying the IUD, and I hear that the internal methods of BC (this and the Nuva Ring) might have fewer side effects because they're not ingested? I realize, of course, that condoms are an option, but woud prefer to find a kind of female birth control method that does not come with these side effects!

Are these side effects of birth control pills? Last month I switched from Ortho Tricyclen to generic. I have already completed a pack of the generic and just finished my period yesterday afternoon. I heard that there may be more side effects with the generic and I had more cramping this month but nothing horrible and my period was even lighter than before and started on time, etc. Anyway, today I am sooo tired and cranky, I am dizzy & light headed. Are these side effects from the birth control (b/c I took my first pill of the 2nd generic pack last night)? I didn't feel this way last month when I first started the generic pack so I was just wondering if it could be from the pills or if I was just getting sick or something. Side effects of birth control? I have been on Loestrin 24 for five months and this month I feel like I am experiencing different side effects (I hadn't experienced any up until now). My breasts are not sore but feel bigger, my areolas look enlarged and sometimes I notice those little pimply bumps, but not always. My period did not come last cycle (two and a half weeks ago), but I took a pregnancy test two days ago and it came back negative. Are these changes normal on birth control? I feel like since the hormones produced are similar to those produced in pregnancy some of these symptoms may just be from the pills. I especially don't think that it's pregnancy because I do not have really sore breasts like I did when I was pregnant before. Any help is appreciated!

YAZ birth control pills, side effects, NSAIDS? Hello, I am 39, no kids and am now about to try Yaz as my third BC formula in an attempt to reduce cramping & heavy periods due to uterine fibroids. Tried and discontinued Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and Allesse generic due to side effects. But my periods are just too painful, so I'm trying one more method. Yaz is my last, best hope! I am encouraged by the ladies who seem to report less stomach upset, fatigue, and general yuckiness than with regular BCs. Please share your Yaz experiences with me. Also, I notice on the package insert that "daily" use of NSAIDS like Advil is not advised due to possible raising of potassium levels. Can I take Advil at all... for example, during my period? (Although now my period won't be as painful... right?) Thanks
