Seasonale Birth Control Knowledge Base

Spotting for two weeks on Seasonale birth control? I am in the second week of my third month of Seasonale. This is my first ever cycle of it. In two weeks I'll get my period. However, for the last two weeks I have had light to medium spotting. I am not using a back up birth control. My doctor said that when your spotting, your chances of getting pregnant are increased. I know spotting is normal on Seasonale but how long will this go on? I really don't want to get pregnant!!! Anyone else spotted this long on Seasonale? Does it eventually go away? Thanks for any answers!
Delayed period the month after stopping Seasonale birth control? I'm just a little worried, so wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem. On birth control, I could time my period down to the minute almost of when it would start. I stopped Seasonale over a month ago (the kind that makes you only have periods once per three months). I had my regular period right after stopping, but now the next one is late. Anyone else have their body take over a month to get back to normal? Thanks!!
How long after taking Seasonale birth control to concieve? Been taking seasonale for 4 1/2 months, would like to stop after this pack and try to concieve.
Whats your take on seasonale birth control pills? whats your take on birth control pills period? i dont know, i was fine with my personal form of contraception, meanwhile in my women's health class my professor gives us articles saying the more periods you have in your life, the more increased risk you have of getting cancer, and I got my period at 11 years old! seasonale is a birth control pill that gives you a period 4x a year and thats it. at first i thought that was absurb- like that's disturbing nature's role in women- meanwhile my professor states that with high fat foods in the US, women are getting their periods earlier and obviously cancer is on the rise for unknown reasons. Me personally am against birth control pills because I want to stay natural but with all this breakthrough technology, I am only 20 and I don't know what to do, what do you think?
Want to switch from Seasonale birth control to a different BCP..any suggestions?? I am presently on Seasonale Birth control and have been for about 3 years. I have had ALOT of breakthrough bleeding in the past year(for 2-3 weeks in a row 2-3 times in a 3 month pack....) as well as personaly dryness and lowered sexual drive. I am looking for a different pill. I also havent experienced any weight gain and I would like a pill that this wasnt an issue with either :) HELP!
question about switching from seasonale to yaz birth control? i was taking seasonale birth control because i wanted to be able to only have a period every 3 months instead of every month. my health insurance will no longer cover the cost of seasonale and prescribed me yaz. yaz is regular birth control where you get a period every month. can you take yaz, and just skip the inactive pills and take it the same way as seasonale. im assuming that seasonale is just 3 months worth of active pills, and then your regular inactive pills for a week. also i was wondering if anyone has taken regular birth control pills that way. skipping the inactive pills at the end of the pack for 3 months. thanks!
Is Seasonale birth control the same as Seasonique birth control? I need to know because i'm still taking Seasonale and i have a doctor's appointment this friday and i'm not sure if they discontinued Seasonale and replaced it with Seasonique. I would prefer answers from Doctors or OB/GYNs.
Does any one know how long seasonale birth control hormones stay in your system? I was on seasonale and I had to stop taking it. I stopped taking it like a month and a half ago and I havent got my period yet. I had a daughter in Feb. and was wondering if I could be pregnant again. I dont have any of the signs or symptoms like I did before so I am not sure. My boyfriend and I have had sex but used protection. So could I be pregnant again or are my hormones still messed up?
Anyone tried Seasonale birth control pills for perimenopausal symptoms? I am almost 43 and I am having typical perimenopausal symptoms: prolonged, heavy, painful periods; awful mood swings; night sweats; trouble sleeping etc.... I read an article on Seasonale stating that it has been shown to be helpful with these symptoms. Does anyone have any experience using Seasonale for this purpose?

Anyone take Seasonale birth control pills? for years i have struggled with ovarian cysts and have tried other birth control options. I have tried the shot and gained a ton of weight and lost so much hair(and sex drive), i have done the ortho cyclen too, but stopped because of infections. I am looking to start again for actual birth control reasons. Has anyone had much success/failure rate? Any weight gain, any hair loss.

Haven't had period on Seasonale birth control? Im 17 years old, and I just started the Seasonale birth control a couple months ago, iv finished all the pink pills, and im on my 4th day of the green pills (which is the week im suppose to start my period) but I haven't got my period yet... I haven't had sex, i've been on 4 different kinds of birth control before because of cramps. Is there something I should be worried about since my green pills are almost gone??? PS - Seasonal is the birth control you get your period every 3 months
Seasonale-type birth control pills and skin break outs? Does anyone else get skin breakouts that they think are related to the 3-month long birth control pill regimens like Seasonale? Bleeding on Seasonale Birth Control? I am on my last week of Seasonale birth control pills (before the white ones). Skin Acne Clear Up and ORTHO Tricyclen vs. Seasonale Birth Control Pill to help? Hi, I currently have an IUD but my skin is oily and breaking out not to mention my periods are heavier and more painful. Cramping is awful. I am wanting to get back on the pill. I know Ortho Tricyclen is hailed as helping one to clear up skin but there is a new birth control pill--Seasonale that allows one to (eventually) only have 4 periods per year as well as lighter bleeding. I am just wondering if Seasonale has helped anyone here get their skin cleared up...although its not per se indicated for it. I would love help to BOTH clear up my skin YET also only have a period once every 3 months and ideally, I wouldn't have to choose btwn the two benefits. Anyone care to share their experiences on either method but particularly SEASONALE--since its newer and so less online info about it is available from users. Thanks! Thanks for your answers. I also have headaches...I wonder if Ortho might help with hormonal headaches, too? I have my Dr. appt tomorrow. I will bring in info on both and decide...will also look at skin cleansing links...I do think I might be overstripping the skin's natural oils and thus increasing oil production BUT my skin is also oilier since getting off of NuvaRing and going onto an IUD--I think the estrogen somehow counteracts the hormone that produces oil as its increased since I stopped hormonal birth control. Thanks!
Question about seasonale birth control pills? When do you usually get your period after stopping the active pills? I stopped over a week ago and nothing happened.

Seasonale Birth Control.. would you or wouldn't you? What do you think about Seasonale birth control? Do a lot of women take this? What are the downsides to taking it? I think getting your period only 4 times a year sounds really good and am wondering why it is not more popular? (The only downside I can think to it is that getting your period each month is nice to let you know that you are not pregnant).
seasonale birth control and pms? so i'm on the birth control that only gives you a period every 3 months and i was wondering if you can still get pms on it. and if so, do you get it when you would normally get it, like right before i WOULD have been on period if i wasn't on the birth control? because how would your body know to wait three months to have pms? i'm just wondering because it seemed like i might have had some pms mood swings/ appetite changes the weeks before i would have gotten my period. i'm due for a period this week and have been kind of emotional this past week as well but it doesn't really make sense. anyone else on that sort of birth control? how does it affect pms?
Seasonale birth control and bleeding? I've been on seasonale for a little over 2 years now. I usually should be starting my period on tuesday or wednesday, but i've been spotting since last sunday. i also have had a touch of the stomach flu for about 5 or 6 days now. I was wondering why i'm bleeding, if maybe the virus triggered it or anxiety, because i usually don't spot bleed. and at first it was brown, but now it's like somewhat dark red. i just wanted to make sure this was normal and there isn't anything wrong. Thanks.

Can you get pregnant if you have sex while taking the white inactive pills on seasonale birth control? I have been taking seasonale birth control for the past 3 months and I had sex last night while I was taking the white inactive pills. I am worried that I will be pregnant. My doctor said once u start taking the pills you are protected all the time but to me its weird that you are protected even when you are taking the white pills that contain no medical ingredients. On the seasonale website is says If you miss any white inactive pills: * Throw away the missed pills * Keep taking the scheduled pills * You don’t need backup birth control It says you dont need any back up birth control so does that mean during that week im still protected? I'm so confused

Seasonale birth control question? I have been on seasonale for 2-1/2 months now. Everything was going good until the past couple weeks. I am having lots of pregnancy sysmptoms. I am also feeling very lightheaded and dizzy. I missed a pill about 6 weeks ago. I don't know when I missed it but when I realized, I took it. Could there be a chance that I am pregnant or is it normal to have symptoms from the pill after having none for 2 months?
Has anyone used Seasonale Birth Control? what were you experiences with it? why were you taking it. I have really bad periods and thought it would be easier to only have four a year than 12 a year. However, about 3 weeks before it is due I get all the symptoms of pms. I have ppms or whatever it is anyway. I'm thinking of just not taking anything. My tubes are tied so it's not like I'll get prenant. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Issues with Seasonale Birth Control? I have been taking the Seasonale BC for a year now. I do realize that it has a higher chance of breakthrough bleeding. In fact, I have not yet had a 3 month cycle without some breakthrough bleeding. When I did have breakthrough bleeding, it was only for a day or two. This cycle, though, I have been bleeding since Oct. 11th. That week was the week 10 of the 13 weeks that are provided in the Seasonale packets. Is anyone else taking Seasonale experiencing extended periods of bleeding like this? I'm also considering switching to another BC; I've already taken Ortho, Ortho-Lo, Apri and now Seasonale. Any suggestions?

Seasonale, stomach bigger, unprotected sex before birth control pills? How likely is it that you are pregnant if: Your waist increases two pants sizes in a short time and you are working out and not eating more. You began Seasonale two months ago and had almost no periods for two months before that (light, abnormal bleeding). And you had unprotected sex several times before being on Seasonale? Urine tests are negative and the person has not been to the doctor. I read some women never test positive on urine tests.
After baby birth control, when to start? Okay, so I had my daughter on Dec. 14th. I had her by c-section, so I only bled for about 3 weeks, then a week later I had a cycle. At my 6 week check up I got a sample pack of seasonale type birth control pills w/ the three months worth of pills. I remember my doctor told me to start them on sunday to avoid confusion since they're all so conviently labeled. But she also told me something about if I start on a sunday.... but I don't remember exactly what she told me. So since I started a cycle today, and today is sunday, do I start them today? Or do I wait for next sunday? Lol, please advise!
Cramps, no bleeding, late period, new on birth control, worried? I've been on Seasonale birth contorl for little over a month, my boyfriend and I waited the three weeks time period for it to become effective before we did anything without protection. (He's been checked for stds and everything, and he was my first). Seasonale is the type of birth control that will control your cycle so you will only have a period every three months. My doctor highly recommended it, but said I probably won't get those type of results till after a few months to a year of taking it. However, now I'm a week late and experiencing cramps like my period is starting but thats it. I don't believe I'm pregnant since I'm not experiencing any other symptoms of pregancy, no sick feeling or anything else, but I'm planning on taking a home test just to ease my mind. But I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same type of results/reactions to taking this type of birth control, or has any type of explainations..? Also, I'm of normal weight and I'm 22 so I've been having my period for almost 10 years. My eating habits have changed a little but nothing extreme
birth control question..women only. if a guy answers this, i WILL report abuse!!? i was just wondering if anyone out there has tried the new birth control pill, seasonale? i'm trying to watch my weight and i was wondering what the side effects are of this.. and i've asked a doctor and he said just the normal ones but wouldn't tell me what... i am very sensitive to side effects of any medicine so i wanted to try this new one, but wanted some feedback on it. i've tried every single other form of bc.. and they all have way too many side effects for me to handle like nauseas ALL the time.. and headachy and pregnant like or flu like for those who dont have kids.. please let me know.. NO GUYS ALSO. I SUFFER FROM anxiety.. and depression, is this something i can take along with medication for it. or maybe there's another new med that deals with depression that is a form of bc?? i am not interested in nouva ring. that can fall out, and i've tried the diagraphm, its annoying as hell even when its in the right way, and condoms suck
