Why does the Birth Control Patch leave scars and scabs?

I've been using the birth control patch since Sept 2006 and I stop using because it was leaving marks and scars on my skin. Should I switch to the pill?

  1. It's called side effects, it's something you risk with these "medications"

  4. if it's leaving marks on you then you should strongly consider switching to a different form of birth control.
  5. The patches are skin irritants. If you're having a problem you can always try another form of birth control until you find one you like.
  6. Are you rotating the site you apply the patch? Using the same spot will weaken the skin and can cause skin tears. You could also have a reaction to adhesive on the patch this is not uncommon, talk to your doc about it.
