Has anyone had problems with the birth control patch?
I have been using it for about 6 months and have had no problems with it, however I have heard the bad things about it, like it can cause blood clots and stroke. That scares me, but I really like this form of birth control, I have tried others, ( the pill, the shot) and the patch is my favorite. Would you recommend staying with it or changing to another?

- I would recommend changing methods. I wore it for 2 yrs, and didn't have any major problems, but everyone is complaining about blood clots, heart attack, and stroke, and I even heard that they are taking it off the market.
- My daughter had terrible headaches while on it. Maybe you should just discuss it with your Dr. If your not having trouble it may be perfectly safe for you.
- Ladies if you read about ANY form of birth control they ALL CAUSE those things...not just the patch! You need to be careful no matter what form of birth control you take!
- I heard the same thing about the patch I was using it but I stopped if though it's very good and very easy to use. Even through all forms of birth control can cause some problems I think that these side effects may be a little more likely to have from this product.
- I used to take the patch for 3 years and it's perfectly fine. If you are doing OK, stick with it. I now use Nuvaring because it has a lower dosage of hormones and easier that the patch!
