Birth control methods besides the pill??

I was wanting to know about other birth control methods besides the pill? What are they and what are the advantages and disadvantages? I've heard of doctor implanting something in your arm and it's 99.9% effective? Anyone know anything about that?

  1. The depo shot is what you heard of. also eliminates your period. My cousin has been doing it forever she's happy with it. I still take the pill
  2. I think the birth control that was implanted in the arm was called Norplant or Implanon, but I don't think it's used anymore. I have had a Mirena IUD for 2 years now and I love it. Don't have to remember to take pills, don't have to get shots, and it's really convenient. They do prefer it if you've already had a child, though, since it's inserted through the cervix into the uterus. I personally hate birth control pills. I tried Depo for a while but it made me miserable! So many bad side effects, I think I would max out the word limit. Hope this helps!
  3. Besides the pill there is the DEPO shot which is 99.9% effective. The patch. I not really for the arm thing I heard it lasts for like 6 years thats just to long.
  4. JUST DONT HAVE SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How old are you anyways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if u dont wanna get preg it because ur young
  5. There is depo but I would never ever recommend that to anyone. There is the patch, the implant, the IUD, the Nuvaring. And there are plenty of brands of pills out there. http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx Check that for reviews.
