  1. I haven't taken Lybrel but have met other women who have considered it. I have read up on it though and one thing I found is that because of the way that Lybrel is designed (to take pills so that one doesn't have a period for an entire year) that there is the potential to have breakthrough bleeding. I don't know yet based on what I've read what the long term side effects are but the thought is that it is supposed to make it easier to not have periods. 2. I started taking Lybrel about 2 or 3 months ago. I thought it would be the best thing ever. All I could think was "yay!! no more period!!" I even threw out all of my tampons and pads. But I was wrong. Everyday I have been spotting and bleeding nonstop for over a month now! I have NEVER had my period longer than 4 days before and I wasn't expecting this pill that stops your period to make my period last longer than before. I read as the months go on women spot less and less. Also I have been getting pimples on my body and face. The worst thing of all is that I have nooooo sex drive, what-so-ever. I am going to look into changing my birth control because I don't really care for this. I guess my expectations were too high. I would also like to know how other people are reacting to taking this. Maybe it gets better???
