Whats your take on seasonale birth control pills?
whats your take on birth control pills period? i dont know, i was fine with my personal form of contraception, meanwhile in my women's health class my professor gives us articles saying the more periods you have in your life, the more increased risk you have of getting cancer, and I got my period at 11 years old! seasonale is a birth control pill that gives you a period 4x a year and thats it. at first i thought that was absurb- like that's disturbing nature's role in women- meanwhile my professor states that with high fat foods in the US, women are getting their periods earlier and obviously cancer is on the rise for unknown reasons. Me personally am against birth control pills because I want to stay natural but with all this breakthrough technology, I am only 20 and I don't know what to do, what do you think?

- I am the same age as you, and have been on birth control for the past three years for health reasons, and I have to say, that I'm all for birth control, and if they could lower the amount of hormones in seasonale and still get it to work, I would love that. But I think birth control is a good thing. For me, it controls pain I get with my periods and since being on it, I have not had as many cysts. As for the letting nature run its course thing, I'm not sure whether four periods a year is a bad thing or not. In all reality they really don't know how it will affect women long term, because it hasn't been out that long. And in terms of cancer, I have also heard that women who are on the pill do have a lower risk of certain types of cancer, but those who are on it for more than eight years, actually have an increased risk. It's all got positive and negative benefits, but again they really don't know how the different types of birth control on the market today will affect women in 20 or 30 years.
- i went on bc pills after my first child. when i had my second baby i found seasonale and LOVED it. my periods were very light its was crazy and nice. i had no side effects at all. now i have an iud so i don't have to worry about taking a pilll every or forgettting it. but its all up to you if you want to be on a pill every ones different and everyone goes on the pill for their own reason. talk to your doctor if your unsure of what do to. good luck with your choice. but bc pills are all safe.
