Has anyone been on the Depo birth control shot after have a baby?
I had a baby almost 3 months ago and at my six week check up, I got the Depo shot method of birth control. I am just wondering how effective it really is. I got pregnant while I was on Seasonale. I am NOT ready to have another baby yet. Also, should I take a pregnancy test just in case before I give myself the shot every three months? Thanks!

- you won't get pregnant, but you will gain weight. depo is notorious for causing woman to gain and retain weight. it was a real problem for me...the weight not pregnancy. personally, i prefer the patch. it's great.
- i went on it after my first and it made me gain 32 pounds (which i was not able to lose until one year after stopping the shot and I TRIED!!!!) i never got pregnant, but it made me feel sick and horrible. plus it is linked to osteoperosis. so make sure you get enough calcium.
- The Depo shot is like the implants...and even the Pill....all are SYNTHETIC STEROIDAL ARTIFICIAL HORMONES. Now we all know what happens to young men who go on STEROIDS.... but why is it okay to push STEROIDS on young girls and women? Weight gain...is very common and it is not easy to loose it because it has nothing to do with you eating too much.. It also affects your bones.... causing osteoporosis and even bone cancer and other cancers have been linked to it. It is so sad to have woman after woman tell you that they cannot get pregnant ..... after only ONE SHOT! If you are not married....abstain from sex...and save yourself from a lot of health problems and stress and worry. If you are married, check out the Natural Family Planning sites on line www.ccli.org has an AT HOME COURSE... and others have lists of instructors all over the country and the world.
