If a girl is wearing a birth control patch on her stomach and saying she is missing her periods does that mean she is pregnant?

  1. Umm...If she's missing periods then yes, it does.
  2. Not necessarily. BC can regulate periods and there is a type out now that eliminates periods altogether. Maybe she's taking that one.
  3. no. she may miss a few periods BECAUSE of the patch. nothing to worry about :)
  4. If you know someone wearing the patch tell the stop. That patch leads to blood clots. Some women have died from that thing.
  5. Not neccesarily. Missing a period here and there is pretty common with homonal birthcontrol methods. If she misses 2 in a row, then she should get tested, but I wouldnt worry until then!
  6. Some birth control medicines are designed to make a girl's periods shorter or non existent. When a girl takes birth control pills, the body has to adjust to the extra hormones that she is taking, which may result in missed or irregular periods.
  7. Not necesarrily. The "birth control patch" is intended to regulate periods in women, however, in some women it may delay periods for a couple months. Also, the patch is to be worn on the belly, or on the buttocks, according to manufacturer directions. However, any missed periods, if not already previously discussed with the gynecologist, should be discussed with the gynecologist. You can still get pregnant while taking "birth control" in which case the "birth control" should be discontinued IMMEDIATELY for fear of loss of pregnancy. (This, on hind thought, is not a good reason to avoid the doctor and to keep wearing the patch) Go see the doctor with any concerns, please!
  8. Patches are BAD she can get blood clots and can die tell her to get the pills. And no she might not be pregnant couse the patch might be the one making her miss her periods. And if your not sure just tell her to take a test
  9. not necessarily bc can throw off a girls cycle not to mention a lot of girls are irregular how long has she used the patch- i doubt she is pregnant but the best thing to do is have a doc give her a preg test
  10. There could be a chance that she's pregnant. But keep in mind that sometimes when a woman uses birth control, it messes with her hormones. And that usually disrupts her monthly period. She can either have more than usual, or they could stop. Either way if you want to know for sure, I suggest a pregnancy test.
