- ive had it for 4 months now and i love it!!!! hopefuly i wont get preggo
- I got my IUD in september 2006 when my son was 2 months old. At first I was spotting non stop. But after like 3 months I didn't have a period at all. I never really had any problems with it besides the spotting in the beginning. I'm going to get it again after my second baby is born. I had it removed in may 2007 so we could try for number 2!!
- I had mine put in about 3 weeks ago (Mirena) and so far so good. I came off the shot to get an IUD put in. You have to take a pill the night before to dilate your cervix, and take some Advil the morning you have it put in. When they are inserting it, it feels like bad period cramps, which lasts 2 or 3 minutes. Then you have moderate cramps for the next 24 hours. By the second day, I was fine. I love it, and I would recommend it to anybody! Good luck
- my sister has had it since my second nephew was born which was almost 2 years ago and shes not pregnant with a third one.so i would say that it works.
- I got one for the same reasons you mentioned. I have to say I had my put in about ten months ago and I have an appointment to get it out on Aug. 6th. It certainly has protected against pregnancy but ever since I started my period again(I breastfed so that was about six months ago) I have spotted every single day and when my period comes it is a full seven days and the first 2-3 days I need a new super plus tampon every two hours. I know this will sound gross but if I miss that 2 hour range I will litterally have blood running down my leg. It's insanely heavy!! Mind you I used to have the lightest of periods that lasted for 4 days. I have the plain copper IUD and from what I understand the Mirena hormonal IUD actually makes lighter periods and less PMS symptoms. I have to say if it weren't for the problems I am having I would be thrilled with it though. You never have to think about it and it is more effective than everything but not having sex. I geuss I haven't helped much except to say get the Mirena if you do get one.
- I got one after my second child was born. which was 6 months ago........ Lets see at first i cramped super bad and had spotting that seemed to last a month and I was beginning to think it would never stop but it finally did. Still have never even know its there I had a prob taking the pills to couldnt remember to take them and didnt like the depo shot didnt like the patch. but so far i havent had any real problems with this iud
- try nuva-ring. it's a great form of birth control and you can choose whether or not you want to have a period.
