My girlfriend missed her birth control pill 2 days ago, but didn't realize it until today?

She didn't take her pill 2 nights ago, took one yesterday, and tonight realized that she had missed one 2 days ago.. We had sex both yesterday and the day before. She's taking Lybrel. The website doesn't have anything about this scenario. What should we do? We're going to call her doctor tomorrow as soon as we can. But should we be worried?

  1. oh man. id talk to a doctor maybe?
  2. day after pill think its offically called plan b ..go to pharmacy and get some to make sure all is ok unless u dont mind sweating it out waiting to see if she gets her period or not next month
  3. chill out first of all. you need to miss it a lot more than just a day to have it stop working. it is still in the system. hopefully she won't make this a regular habit, (if so, maybe a different type of birth control might be better).
  4. Ouch! Harsh, yea talk to a doctor and have her checked up. Cross ur fingers that the last pill worked long enough for when u had "it" and she missed that does.
  5. OOPS!! Congratulations, Daddy-O! When is the wedding??
  6. Stop having sex for a couple of weeks. The pill affects take place later on. If she missed tonight and you had sex, probably no problem because the pills early in the week are still effective. However, in a couple of days, the potency will be lowered because of the missed day but then should return to normal a couple of days after the decline. Basically the pill taken tonight effects tomorrow and a couple of days later.
  7. Missing a pill increases your risk of becoming pregnant. If you miss one "active" pill, take two pills on the day that you remember. Then take one pill per day for the rest of the pack. If you miss two "active" pills in a row in week one or two, take two pills per day for two days in a row. Then take one pill per day for the rest of the pack. Use back-up birth control for at least 7 days following the missed pills. If you miss two "active" pills in a row in week three, or if you miss three pills in a row during any of the first 3 weeks, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new one the same day if you are a Day 1 starter. If you are a Sunday starter, keep taking a pill every day until Sunday. On Sunday, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new one that day. If you miss three "active" pills in a row during any of the first 3 weeks, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new pack on the same day if you are a Day 1 starter. If you are a Sunday starter, keep taking a pill every day until Sunday. On Sunday, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new one that day. If you miss two or more pills, you may not have a period during the month. If you miss a period for two months in a row, call your doctor because you might be pregnant. If you miss any reminder pills, throw them away and keep taking one pill per day until the pack is empty. You do not need back-up birth control if you miss a reminder pill.
  8. The website doesn't have anything about this scenario????? Just how stupid are you? Are you using a condom? Are you both reproductivly healthy??? She was taking the pill - she missed a pill + 2 stupid people = she could get pregnant. How hard was that???
  9. Calm down first off. Tomorrow, call around to see where you can get the plan B pill set. Some pharmacies carry it, as well as planned parenthood. You can get it without a script. Its probably OK but if you want to be sure then plan B will give you a little added insurance. I've never used bc pills before, but I'm almost certain that missing 1 will not cause you to get pregnant.
  10. Tell her to keep on taking da pills. If she feels different then see a doctor.
  11. take the morning after pill??? aka plan B?
