Are skin rashes an allergic reaction to the birth control patch?

I have been using the birth control patch ( Evra for three month) and i have this rash all over my body and it itches, am not sure what is causing it but i suspect it maybe the patch.

  1. yes you can be allergic to lt but l would see your doctor just to clear lt up
  2. sounds like you have hives and it most certainly could be the patch. most likely it is not the hormones but the adhesive you are having a reaction to. contact your doctor to discuss switching your birth control method.
  3. Talk to your doctor, and read the instructions and warnings that came with the patch. If it says anything about itching or rashes, then obviously do what it says. Maybe stop using it for a few days, get some benadryl and see if it goes away.
  4. it could possibly be a reaction to the patch... i would see the docter or somone to get it checked out but i wouldnt be to terribly worried. good luck!!!
  5. If the rash showed up at the same time as the patch, yep, side effect. Although, it could be an allergy to something else.
  6. it is either the plastic used for th patch or the chemicals on the patch, but consult your doctor immediately!
  7. first thing you wanna do is stop using that patch... it has very dangerous side effects.... thats prolly what the rashes are from!!! good luck!
  8. Red the warnings on the Oackage. It is Probably an adverse reaction to the Patch. Ask your Dr. Change to the pill or something else.
  9. many test have been done on the subject, yet studies have feel to provide conclusive evidence, to support that theory
