I have been on Lybrel for 1 year and two weeks ago I started bleeding and I haven't stopped. Any reason why?

Lybrel stops a womans period all together. I have not had any cramps or anything up until two weeks ago, I have severe cramps and I am bleeding just like I would during my cycle.

1. It's a side effect from the medication itself. This occurs because the body is trying to adjust to the change in the medication when starting out (if someone is starting out) or as could be the case here the amount of estrogen in the product is too low for your body to handle. This bleeding is called breakthrough bleeding, which is bleeding that can act a lot like a menstrual period but isn't. I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor as well to see what they say.
