Topamax and back up birth control methods?

I am trying to decide whether or not to take topamax. My doctor prescribed it for weight loss but since it can make birth control less effective, he has suggested back up methods; i.e condoms. Has anyone tried this? I'd hate to lose weight, get pregnant, only to get fat again!

1. then don't have sex and still lose weight. or us condoms.its really easy to avoid.
2. Try talking to the doc about a different form of birth control, maybe an IUD, implant or long term injections may work better. Either way, make sure that your doc outlines all the risks, if you're not happy with them, then don't take it. Good luck.
