  2. birth control without insurance costs about 100 dollars. condoms cost money too. some poor people dont think its worth it when they can buy food. other listen to tales they hear from friends that are supposed to stop pregnancy.
  3. This isn't a question, but I'll try to answer it anyway... and I'm not necessarily for or against birth control, but here are some theories I heard. In the Western world, most people just don't like or don't want children. People in developing countries see that a different way. Their view is more multigenerational rather than "me, me, me", so they choose more kids over more possessions. More kids can also help the family more, especially if the family farms for a living or runs a family business. Also, in developing countries, fewer women work outside the home. In the West, more women work; so in two-income families, extra factors like day care present a problem. Another factor is that in the Western world people get married a lot later, so women have less time to have kids while they are married.... and they usually don't want kids while they're single, hence more birth control.
