Does birth control lessen your chance of having a baby later on?
Like if you decide to get off birth control and have a baby. Just curious.

- no, not for me, I was on the pill for about 15 years, and was pregnant 2 months after stopping it.
- no, but there are lots of different kinds of birth control the pills are just while you are tking them they don't effect the future but other kinds can last for 5yrs you can't get pregnant
- No it will not. But it can cause your menstrual cycle to get messed up. It can also cause you to get pregnant, at least within the first 3 months of taking them....
- It's not likely but it can happen. When you take birth control, you shouldn't be on it for long periods of time. The whole point of birth control is to suppress ovulation by doses of hormones. During ovulation an egg is released from the ovaries, without ovulation there is no egg to be fertilized and pregnancy cannot occur. The birth control tricks your body into thinking it's pregnant so that no eggs are released. If you're taking birth control for a long time, sometimes the body forgets how to produce eggs and you'll have problems trying to get pregnant but of course, this doesn't happen to everyone. I personally wouldn't stay on it for more than 3 years without taking a one year break and then continuing again.
- It shouldn't lessen your chance of getting pregnant but some women take longer to get pregnant after they go off the pill. I know a some that got pregnant right away and some it took months and even over a year for one. Usually a doctor wants you off the pills for a few months and some even start you on prenatal vitamins just to make sure you are really healthy before you even get pregnant.
