Should I start my birth control on the sunday start or day one start?

I started my period today.September 20th, I am going on vacation on december 20th! So i will be on my period. :( Im so upset about this. I went to my doc to start my birth control.Should I start my pills today, day one start or Sunday? Will it make a difference?Please help! Thanks.

1. Start on Sunday. If you want to skip your period in December just don't take the placebo pills but immediately start a new pack.
2. Well, if you REALLY don't want to be on your period in December, then take your first pill this Sunday.
3. i'd start today. that way it's effective right away. when you do a sunday start, it will take at least 2 weeks to be totally effective. if you don't want your period on december 20th, skip your innactive pills. some doctors don't reccomend that though, so talk to your doc about it.
