can you get your daughter a birth control shot with telling her it is birth control?
i do mean WITH CONSENT TO DO SO from the parent . if she is underage they do not make the decision on what to get vaccinated with. the doctor doesnt tell her "this is for varicella is it o.k.?" the parent gives the o.k. sooooo like i said can a parent do the same with a birthcontrol shot.

- no, it would be unethical (not to mention illegal) for a doctor to inject a patient without her informed consent (that means she has to KNOW WHAT IT IS, and agree to it).
- You mean without. I think that is unethical & two-faced. Teach her the importance of self-respect & about birthcontrol. If she is going to be involved in adult behaviours, allow her to make an adult decision to protect herself as well.
- I would say so. Before you take her tell the doctor that it is to help with hormones and regulate her period and NOT to tell her because she is scared of the word birth control. Also, get her the HPV shot as well.
- That would be unethical. I cannot imagine tricking my daughter like that. Is there some reason you feel the need to withold this information from her?
- It is certainly not illegal or even always unethical if the daughter is underage. Doctors prescribe all kinds of meds all day to thousands of kids who have no idea what it is they're getting because parents make these choices for them. I would certainly inform my daughter of what she's geetting though, communication is ususally best.
- Since the birth control shot will not protect her from STD's, you're setting her up to be at risk. Have a long, honest talk about condoms with her instead- it will be better for both of you in the long run.
- If she is your daughter there is no law that states that she can't have her get one. As the parent you do what you feel you need to and regardless of how people take it is not wrong to tell you daughter she is getting the shot. In fact the ones that argue it have no kids or have not been through this yet. I think you should not lie to her about what she is getting though that is a little extreme.
