How effective is the birth control shot?

I am on my 3rd shot and i just wanted to know how effective the shot was for me since i have took it 3 times? How easily can i get pregant??

1. It is very effective, but I still know people that got pregnant off of it. To prevent getting pregnant, I would use the bc pill...that way you know if you have a chance, because you would know if you missed a pill, or late, etc. Put if you like this way, use a condom along with the shot, best way to avoid it.
2. I believe its about 99% effective now. I have heard some woman have gotten pregnant while on the shot, I however was on it for almost 2 years and never had a problem.
3. i have been on it for a year and a half and havent gotten pregnant (knock on wood!) i dont use anything but the shot as protection. id say its pretty effective. my aunt was on it for 6-9 years and never used protection and still never got pregnant. my nurse at my OBGYN said the only time in 7 years of her working as a nurse shes only seen ONE person get pregnant while on the shot and that person had gotten the shot a week later than she was suppose to.
4. i was on the shot, and it was very effective, but it started to cause weight gain so i switched to the pill, but now they have something called an iud and it last for up to 5 years, i've heard it was extremely effective.
5. i got pregant on this and i was using condoms so i would say not effictive at all
6. Couldn't resist this one... I didn't even know there was a birth control shot! My view... The best way to avoid unwanted pregnancies is abstinence; especially if you are not married.
