Birth control?

I feel pressure to go on birth control. I am 15 and not planning on having sex. But almost all my friends are on it and I feel left out? Should i go on it. (I also have realy bad periods and heard this might help true?)

  1. dont go on it unless you feel the need to. The pill can also help lighten your periods. And stop you from getting pregnant. Bad side, it can cause weight gain and make your breasts bigger, moodiness and also a bit of nausea. It can take 4 months to most for it to start working - adjust to the hormones. In between this time you may find you get some breakthrough bleeding or spotting. But it may not happen.
  2. lol dont feel pressure because of that. its like the whole "if your friends jump off a bridge..." thing. I'm 18 now and I got birth control when I was 15 for my periods. it helped alot. Im now on the nuva ring so i dont have to worry about pills every day. if you have bad pms though... there's a specific kind of pill that can help that. just relax and be a kid, even if you dont want to admit that u may just still be one. also there's one were u wont even have a period for 3 months. talk to your doctor and tell him/her that you dont plan on having sex and you wantn to control your perioid. they know best. =]
  3. I recently started birth control because I decided to be sexually active. The pill (YAZ) has helped me with my period and my acne. I have not yet experienced a negative with the pill yet. The choice is yours but first understand what you must do to get the prescription and your responsibility after you get the pill.
