What Birth Control method does not decrease your sex drive?
I have taken the pill for several years and have noticed a decrease in my sex drive quite a while ago. I started reading about it and everything indicates that the pill and medications for depression may decrease your sex drive, so I stopped taking it. Are all hormone related birth control methods (Patch, IUD, Shot, Ring, etc.) prone to cause the same effect?

- Any birth control decreases sex drive. Why do you think the world is overpopulated?
- I don't think the ring effect you but niether does the condom
- Abstainance.... It makes you hornier.
- What about a condom?
- the patch could cause the same thing since it is using hormones as does the pill. the other stuff you mentioned also have side effects. the safest is condoms. the only effects that i believe you could get from that is a rash if you are allergic. go figure.
- I use the "copper " IUD. It lasts for 10 years and I have had it for almost 8 years now. It doesn't use hormones, I have blood clots so I can't use anything with hormones that may increase the likely hood of more clotting. I have not had a decrease with that, but everyone is different and may not want to have an IUD.
- The Pill... the condom decreases it... Ugggh!!! So unromantic!!
- I was on the pill and it did the same thing to me. I'm on the Ring now and its the same way for me. I still enjoy sex but I dont have the drive for it like I used to. However I don't want another child right now so I deal with it. And there is always condoms. They hold no effect in decreasing sexual drive.
