How long after you take anti-biotics should you use a back up method of birth control if you are on the pill?

I have been on the pill for a few months now, and would like to know if the antibiotics only affect your pill while you are taking them, or if they decrease the effectiveness and you should use a back up birth control method even after you are finished taking the antibiotics?

1. You should use back-up (condoms) for the period which you are on the antibiotics for than for a week after you've finished them.
