Which birth control would be the most effective for a female to prevent pregnancy from having unprotected sex?
Since I've been thinking of having unprotected sex for the first time, what kind of birth control should I use to prevent pregnancy? Which birth control would be the most effective to prevent pregnancy from having unprotected sex? I've heard of the patch, pills, diaphragm, IUD, etc.

- i use yasmin..its been pretty good for the year and half i've been taking it...u might want to do some research on them try going to www.plannedparenthood.com they have all sorts of information and how effective they are..good luck!
- the pill but ask your gyno they would no best i no my gyno has a chart that shows the effectiveness of all forms on birth conrtol right in the office
- Each of the types of birth control types are just as eeffective as the other. None of them are more than 97% effective in preventing pregnancy and NONE of them protect you from STD. You have to make your decision based on what is convenient for you. Are you a person who forgets to take a pill daily? Do you think you would find it messy and inconvenient to insert an object right before sex? Do you want to have the comfort and ease of taking a shot every three months and not having to think about it? Discuss these things with your doctor and let him help you make the right choice. But in this day and age why would anyone want unprotected sex unless you have married and are planning to be monogamous for the rest of your life. Good Luck
