Can my birth control make a pregnancy test show up negative if I am pregnant?
I am on birth control and I had to double up a couple times because I forgot my pill. I use a pill called season ique. So I have a period every 3 months I have been getting sick almost every morning for about 3 weeks I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. Could my pills cause the test to read negative if it is really positive?

- no
- No...your pills wont effect the pregnancy test....
- No pills won't change the answer. I would call your doctor since you might have something else going on. Good luck.
- nope, your not PG the pg test will only show a positive if the HCG hormone is there, and its only there when your pregnant NO BC pillls or anything else can change it. OK Good Luck and relax Meg
- Two things could be happening, the hormones in the pill you are taking could be making the test come up negative and if you in any way suspect you could be pregnant you should have stopped taking the pills, immediately!!!!!!!! The other thing is that if you are doubling up the extra hormones all at once could be making you sick. When taking ANY prescription medication but especially the pill you need to take it every day at the same time so the dosage stays at an even level throughout and doesn't spike up and down. You need to discuss these problems with your ob-gyn immediately and until it is determined whether you are pregnant or not, stop taking this medication for the safety of the baby. Good luck and God Bless.
- Nope! Pills don't work that way!
- if ur pregnant its positive, with or without taking bc
- i have been on birth control for 4 yrs now and now they won't affect the out come of the pregnancy test.
- no it can't the pill can NOT affect a pregnancy test your most likely NOT pregnant
- birth control has no effect on a pregnancy test
- no the pill wont make a test be negative. stop doubling your pill if you miss one skip the dose never take two pills thats why your sick and see your doctor you are overdosing on the pill
