Will taking 5 days of birth control pills prevent pregnancy?
The package says to wait a week but we only waited 5 days. He wasn't even remotely close to cumming inside me... though we all know how UN-effective the "pull-out" method works. The most I could've gotten inside of me is pre-cum. Do you think I'm safe? Are there enough hormones in 5 days of BC to prevent a pregnancy anyway? It's been like... 2 hours. Like I said though. The BC I have taken PLUS the fact that there isn't much sperm in pre-ejaculate fluid anyway should THEORETICALLY keep me safe... right? The BC I'm taking says it's guaranteed 99.5% effective after 7 days if you're taking it perfectly (which I am).

- No, not according to what I've learned about birth control pills and preventing pregnancy but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
- It's touch and go. I would like to say that 7 days is probably the really really really safe level, but 5 might be pushing it. If it's been recent then you may want to go down the track of the morning after pill.
- ummm you should be fine? youll find out in a month! im thinking that you should have waited to have sex though, you arent ready for kids (obviously) and id like to know what you think you'd do with a kid? either way, you should be fine... no reason to worry, stressing will just make you miss your period and freak out even more
- People get pregnant off of preejaculation fluid, so you are not safe there. There is ALWAYS a chance of becoming pregnant, whether you waited the week before having another form of protection and have taken your pills as prescribed or not. I was told to wait TWO WEEKS before having sex without a condom while starting the pill. I think less than a week is really pushing it.
