what is the difference between pregnancy or birth control side effects?
i just asked a similiar question b/c i have been experiencing pregnancy symptoms for a few weeks and i had unprotected sex about a month or month and a half ago which is the same time i started taking my BC.Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting a few times, weight gain, or bloating, irritability, headaches, bad cramps, hungry but not wanting to eat as much. I am concerned b/c i know all of these symptoms can go either way. Help please i need a lot of answers!!!

- I would stop taking the birth control and go get a pregnancy test. If the test says negative, then I would get on a different BC. I was prescribed a BC that also made me nausea and I knew it was that, because I would take it every morning at the same time, and every afternoon at the same time I was feeling shaky, dizzy, and very nausea. So maybe try a different birth control.
- They sound the same for you so far. The biggest difference is, of course, the baby. Some BC take two weeks to "kick in" and if yours had not, you may be pregnant. If you're not pregnant, switch to another kind of BC that doesn't make you feel so ill. There are so many to choose from.
- sometimes they can feel really similar so i would take a pregnancy test just to be sure and if it comes back negative go and see your dr because the hormone levels in the birth control might be the wrong combination for you.
- It's very possible you could be pregnant. Plenty of people, including myself, get pregnant on the pill after taking it for several years. Go get a pregnancy test and take it using your first morning urine (the pregnancy hormone it detects will be more concentrated). If it's negative, call your doctor and let them know what's going on and ask for a different birth control. This is definitely not something you want to deal with all the time! If it's positive, well congratulations and stop taking that pill. Good luck!
