How long after going off the birth control patch until I have a normal cycle?

I started this month and decided to stop using my patch. I got my period as usual on the 3rd but now I have it again. When will I have a normal cycle and how do I know when I'm ovulating if it's so messed up?

  1. o probably like within 3 months ..thats what used to happen to me before i changed..you know
  2. you never now u should have never stopped using your patch
  3. I was on the patch for a year and a half, and after I quit using it I didn't have a "cycle" at all until a year later. It just depends on how your body deals with bc.
  4. They say from 1-6 months .6 is the longest. You can tell if you're ovulating by getting a home ovulation test. Go by the directions in the box to find out when you start testing. You can also check for other signs such as cervical mucus, basal body temp etc.
  5. This is a question best answered by your doctor. Every woman's body is different and react differently to medications. You may never have a "normal" menstral cycle after taking the hormones in the patch. Consult your physician for accurate advice.
  6. When I stopped using the patch it took 3 months for me to have a period. It was normal after that.
