I forgot to put on my birth control patch. Do I have to use condoms now?

I forgot to put my patch on Sunday night when I usually do. I remembered and put it on Monday morning. Do I have to start over now? TIA!

  1. it shouldn't be a problem but i would use condoms for at least the next month just to make sure. or better yet call your doc and ask them. it may be that the hormones from the patch stay in your system longer than the pill so there is a lag over time...
  2. you should be using condoms anyway
  3. i would use back up protection
  4. No, you'll be fine.
  5. i dont think you do i dont know anything about the patch if its the othro thing stop useing it right now and go to the doctor they are causing problems in women and a big law suit is being put against the othro patch not to scare you i just heard it on the noon news.
  6. I don't think it really make a difference if you put tour birth control on monday morning.I doubt if you would have to start over.
  7. even 1 hour can mess up the cycle and cause ovulation... if it is 24 hours then it is definite you need to use a bacvk up control for 1 month... that is why they say mark your calender or put where you will not foret. if it bewteen 6-18 hours you might be OK, but are playing russian rouletter... would you rather wear condons for a month or get pregnant? It is actually MORE likley to pregnant when you misss/skip BCP then usuall cause your hormoens go crazy and often cause ovulation prematurly, there are many mnay babies in the world cause of this error... i suggest you use condoms
  8. if its a monthly patch and you just finished your menstral cycle on Sunday and that's why you were putting on, you should be okay. Usually one day isn't enough to let you ovulate, especially if its the VERY beginning of the cycle. However, if you are worried about it, consider using extra protection for the upcoming month. (hard, I know! O.O!)
  9. I would no birth control is 100 percent. I was on birth control and ended up pregnant.
  10. it depends on whether this was a patch change or the first of the cycle. if it was a patch change, you should be fine because you were within a day. if it was the start of a new cycle, then you need to use condoms for the first week. i know this because i have had similar situations, so i read the instruction booklet. you should check the instructions, they will tell you exactly what to do.
