Does the birth control patch work well?

I just started the shot about 1 1/2 ago and I have been bleeding most of the time. I was wondering if the patch is good.

  1. I heard that they took the patch off the marked due to higher risk of blood clots, but their web page is still active... Here is some info about the lawsuit - http://www.orthoevrapatchlawsuit.com/?gclid=CJ68-N6Y2o0CFQqNHgodrUn1bg
  2. NO! dont do it! the patch is the worst, it can cause really bad blood clots and even death. The shot or the pill is good, but the the pill messed up my cycle, after i took it my periods are irregular and are a little heavier but it does work. Hope this helps you :-)
  3. I've heard it falls off easily
  4. I have taken both the patch and the shot and I can tell you they're both not my favorite...I had the same problem on the shot as you except I bled for 3 months with very little breaks Now as for the patch I do think that it's great at preventing pregnancy but the side effects are not so good...I found myself passing out in the shower and feeling really woozy and tired all the time...also the headaches were pure hell Also the patch falls off and leaves a black sticky area that's a pain to get off
  5. I would stay away from all those hormones I prefer the IUD although for some people its no the best option especially if multiple partners are involves in your bed . The intrauterine device (IUD) is a piece of T-shaped plastic, about the size of a quarter, that is placed inside the uterus to prevent pregnancy. Two types of IUDs are available: one is T-shaped and covered with copper wire, the other is a plastic coil that is coated with and releases the hormone progesterone. The IUD does not protect against STDs. One of the concerns with the IUD is that girls who have multiple partners and do not use condoms can be at greater risk for STDs, and there's the possibility that these diseases could develop into a pelvic infection. This is true, though, for all methods of birth control.
  6. I am on the patch and ot works great! It just depends on the person, and yes it is still used. it has not been taken off the market, that is something else, but i can't remember what! The shot is the worst thing u ca do! Your best bet is either the pill or the patch. If you can really reemember te pill, do that b/c they have a larg variety to work with your body, and the patch is great if you forgot alot! You only remember one day of the week, and the week of your period you don't use one.....it makes your body learn 'on the patch, no perod, off the patch, period' And is great if you want to have sex! But nothing is 100% safe, so always use a condom too!
  7. i have been on the patch for 6 years and i love it,no problems with it,4 days of bleeding while your on the rag,and honey it stays on when ya get wet .
