What's the best birth control to make your period lighter?

I'm fifteen, I'm not looking to have sex, I'm looking for a lighter period. Mine usually lasts for a whole week and I use a super plus tampon every four-five hours, and I'm sick of it. Can anyone help me with choosing the right birth control for this problem?

1. I have dealt with this problem years ago and thankfully I don't have to anymore. I saw a commercial on tv where it advertises only 3 days. I can't remember what kind it was but talk with your mom and see if she can't make an appt with your doctor. Good Luck
2. yes im 18 and i had the same problem and i was on the pill to regulate my period and it made it a little worst, however my bffl is onthe pill and her period is only 3days, so i guess it depends on the person and what pill for birth control their actually on. i switched about 3 months ago to the nuva ring and i love it, its a small flexable ring you instert in your vagina, sounds kinda strange but its painless and u dont even kno its there, u keep it in 3wks and then remove for one and get your period fo about 3-4 days. try looking on a web site like plannedparenthood.com or etc to see what other birth controls are out and what maybe best for you. good luck, precious
