Ladies. What IUD birth control method is better? Paragard or Mirena?

After i give birth to my second child, i would like a birth control method that is simple and i dont have to worry about as far as forgetting to take it or change it (the pill or patch), but at the same time im scared of what the IUD might do to me. Any suggestions?

  1. It depends on what you want to get out of your birth control. If you want lighter, shorter periods, then the Mirena might be better for you. As for the Paragard, it does cause longer and heavier periods, but a lot of women feel that it's worth it to not have any hormones. Personally, I chose the Mirena, but I have friends who are really happy with both. Good luck!
