IUD birth control???

Does anyone know, from exprience how affective the IUD birth control is? And if the benefits out weigh the risks? Reading about it seemed a bit scary and sketchy. Any advice?

  1. Are you aware of the link between breast cancer and oral contraception? http://www.noroomforcontraception.com/Articles/Contraception-Breast-Cancer.htm
  2. the IUD is supposed to be as effective as tubal ligation. I have had the mirena for over a year now, and im not too fond of it, but i dont want to get pregnant either! you can email me if you would like more information on it! Good Luck!
  3. You can read all about it from this site : http://www.fwhc.org/birth-control/iudinfo.htm and no, there is no link between breast cancer and oral contraceptives, as the guy above me stated.
  4. I've always heard horror stories about IUD usage, and was actually under the impression they've long since been outdated and unused.
  5. I loved my IUD, and in 5 years I never had a worry. Friends of mine and my sister have one and they also have no complaints. I know it sounds scary, I was scared myself...all ANYONE who doesn't have an IUD seems to know is the horror stories from one type of IUD back in the 1970's. Rest assured, IUD's are more effective than any other bc on the market and it is safe, technology has come a long way. All bc's have their risk, look closely and you may find that those risks are very similar to the shot, pills, etc.
