Is there a generic for lybrel birth control?

This is the first time I'm taking this brand, and when I went to pick it up I was shocked. I have good insurance and it was still $40. I know that's not as bad as it could be, but I'm use to $10-$12. Anyway I was wondering if there was a generic and can I just request it from now on?

1. Seeing as this is a relatively new drug, I doubt that they have a generic version of it out just yet.
