Why arent Women on welfare REquired to have an IUD (birth control) as long as they are receiving welfare?!?!!?
Why is it that women on welfare are allowed to keep breeding MORE children when they cant take care of their child/children as it is?!!! There are birth control methods that are TEmporary and can be removed at a later time, so what is wrong with giving them the CHOICE to either have an IUD put in or not receive MORe money!! This country is falling apart when it makes more sense for me (who recently graduated college) to have a baby and get STATE money than it is to get a JOB!!! In response to the first person's comment: No, at least Financially, they CANNOT take care of their children!!! Their first child is being paid for by OTHER people and there is no reason for the STATE to promote that individual to have MORE children, regardless of the type of parent that person may be!!!

- because it is illegel to tell someone who is perfectly healthy that they cannot have children and ur comment that they cant take care of there children is just ignorent sometimes people go threw terrible times and lose everything and they have no choice in the matter that doesnt mean there not great parents ur no better then anyone who is on welfare
- Excellent point! Mindy, she's not saying they can't be good parents -- just that it's not a good idea to have a child you can't support. There's people who actually live on state money just because they can and they don't want to work -- I have family members like that -- and kids are an excuse. Welfare is really unfair -- you can get more money for being morbidly obese than for having an incapacitating neurological problem like narcolepsy or fibromyalgia. I knew someone who worked in welfare, and she told a story about how a woman and a male came to ask for more money, and the woman said, "Why only ___? He could work and earn more than that!"
- You are right!!! I fully 110% agree with that. I see all these women getting knocked up by their loser boyfriends and they break up just so she can find another loser to get knocked up with and she is leaching off of the system. Raising her 4 illegitimate children while she isn't working and being supported by welfare. I think we should make these women get an IUD..Nobody under any circumstances should have children if they can't afford to take care of them without the assistance of welfare or programs like that.
- Let's not treat them or talk about them like they're animals. I do see your point and I ask the question all the time as far as people with kids and no job seem to get by easier than those of us without kids who are either working or going to school to better ourselves financially. Help is handed out to those who sit on their a** and have babies while a person like me, who is actually productive, has to work extra hard just to get by. It's not fair. I don't think they should be required to get on birth control because that sounds like being neutered/spayed but there should be something to motivate or help them to get off their a**es instead giving them MORE with each kid they have. They get cheap housing, pretty much free food, etc. Sh*t makes no sense at all.
- Because that's an infringment on human rights... and a little crazy.
- Well for one, birth control is against some religions so it would be a violation of your religious freedom promised in the constitution. Also, like with any medication, birth control has side effects and risks. This can endanger a woman's health now or in the future. And lastly, who's to say some of these women weren't on birth control when they got pregnant. Birth control is not 100% effective even when taken properly. So you cant say they were irresponsible or that they should have it because it may just not workl on them.
