Can you get pregnant if you have sex while taking the white inactive pills on seasonale birth control?

I have been taking seasonale birth control for the past 3 months and I had sex last night while I was taking the white inactive pills. I am worried that I will be pregnant. My doctor said once u start taking the pills you are protected all the time but to me its weird that you are protected even when you are taking the white pills that contain no medical ingredients. On the seasonale website is says If you miss any white inactive pills: * Throw away the missed pills * Keep taking the scheduled pills * You don’t need backup birth control It says you dont need any back up birth control so does that mean during that week im still protected? I'm so confused

1. Yes, you are still protected just as much the placebo week as the rest of the month. The inactive pills are just there to keep you on track with taking your pill at the same time every day. They are just sugar pills, but you are still protected while on them.
