How do I get birth control pills through customs and not get caught?

I am going on a trip in 1 week to cabo with my mom, dad, and friend. I have birth control but my parents don't know about it and i can't tell them. i'm concerned that customs will pull them out and my parents will see the pills. i'm only going to need to take a few of these pills with me. is is worth it to try and hide them? what would happen if customs found them in an unmarked container? would they know, or would they think it was an illegal drug?

  1. Leave in the original package, and put in the bottom of your suitcase, not carry on
  2. I am not the one to hide anything from anyone its the same as lying but I would just go to the bathroom or some place private when its the time to take them... if you keep a purse keep them in there or someplace ur parents wont look be creative - and yes it is worth taking or you'll have to start to process all over again and it'll suck
  3. It's illegal to take any drugs (prescription or otherwise) over the border in an unmarked container. Keep it in its regular packaging. It's seriously doubtful that the security folks will take it out of your bag, however, if you really aren't going to tell your parents and want it hidden, you can put it in your checked luggage. Remember there's always the risk that the suitcase will be lost or delayed. You should have a copy of the prescription from your dr when you go over the border. I travel on planes numerous times a year and have never had a single issue with medication (prescription or over-the-counter). They won't take it out of your carry-on. That said, your PARENTS are responsible for anything you take in your bag if you're under 18. If you get into trouble for anything in your bag by security, your parents will be held responsible. It's probably a good idea to let them know you have it.
  4. hmmmm let me see. . . . . . chew and swallow. next
  5. Unless you are selected for intensive exam by CBP the odds of your pills being pulled out in front of your parents is minimal. I'd put them in your checked luggage in the original packaging -- your carry-on is subject to search by TSA and they love pulling everything out of bags for the world to see. If you do happen to be selected by CBP and they are going to search your bag you can try to let the Officer know what's going on but your parents will probably notice that... So....I'd put the pills in your checked bag for your flight to Cabo and for the return trip and try to remember that we try to minimize the "throwing stuff around" when we search bags.
