Does taking birth control pills affect the result on a pregnancy test?
I've been having unprotected sex but I'm on birth control, but lately I feel different? There's been a bump growing on my stomach that wasn't there a while before and I'm supposed to get my period in two days according to the birth control. (I've also missed a few days and been late a couple of times with the pills.) So if I take a pregnancy test, will it still be accurate, or will the pills affect the results?

- never take a birth control pill with a anti biotic(dont know how to spell) cus it wont work i believe just wanted to make sure you know that.
- it should be accurate, maybe check with your doc instead
- the pills shouldnt affect the test at all. if you were prego the test would show it
- DO NOT TAKE THOSE PILLS !!! TAKING THEM = BAD RESULT !!!
- I'm fairly certain that the instructions that come with a test say that certain types of birth control can affect the reading on a pregnancy test. I would call your doctor or pharmacist to make sure. I also know that if you miss more than two pills the same pack, they are no longer effective.
- If the test is positive, it is always accurate!! So if you take it today or wait and see if you are late then take it, either way if it is positive it is right. If it is negative, it can be wrong. Yes it is possible you are pregnant, I have a friend who was on the pill for around 6 years she missed a few days of her pills, and bamb she got pregnant.
