Can stopping birth control pills make me cramp?
I had to stop taking my birth control pills because I lost my health insurance and cant afford them ( they were almost $50 a month). I am planning on using condoms. But every since I stopped taking them my stomach is cramping and I feel bloated. Is this normal.

- I don't know about the cramping, unless it's just your normal moon time coming on. Just so you know, b.c. pills through Planned Parenthood only cost about $25/month, and they may have cheaper ones than I just got.
- Yes. I started taking birth control for cramping and heavy flow, but once I stopped taking it, everything resumed. I found that the pill helped but I couldn't take it faithfully and it didn't help as much as I liked it to. My doctor told me to take 4 ibuprofen 3 times a day (this would accumulate to be the dosage that a doctor would give if he gave a prescription for one pill three times a day, this way it's just cheaper, ask your doctor though if you feel uncomfortable with this, a call to the nurse can answer this question without cost). I also asked him how long I should do this and would there be problems, the doctor said I could take this during my period every month, there should be no problems. Ibuprofen can ease cramps as well as make a monthly flow less.
