How well does the birth control shot work?

I just got the depo (birth control shot) thats good for 3-4 months like 2 weeks ago. Is effective enough to not wear a condom? I need some more info about it. Like people who actually know about it.

1. it;s the same as the pill. You still need to use a condom and ask your pharmacist if any medications, over the counter medications, herbs or supplements you're taking would make the shot less effective.
2. u do not need to use a condom IF you are in a monogamous relationship.. meanin u trust the person u are with... its purpose is to prevent pregnancy... if that's what ur concerned about.. and yes u are protected now.. [=
3. I had the shot last year. It is good for 3 months What it does is it tricks your body into thinking your pregnant so you can not get pregnant. It is always a good thing to wear a condom expesually to prevent you from getting a disease but it is not needed with the shot
