can guys be put on the birth control shot?

I was doing some research and I came across what is known as the birth control shot...now im confused...can guys and girls be on the shot or is this some furture medical advacement..plz help im soo freakin lost!

1. Wouldn't that be wonderful. That if you could make a man take some responsibility. The birth control shot is for women, there is not a birth control for men other than a condom. But it would be great if it worked for men too.
2. No, it's for girls, it's hormones that prevent her from becoming pregnant..
3. I'm pretty sure they are working on a b.c for men but right now the only shot they have is the depo which is just for women. As far as I know.
4. There is not, at present any hormonal birth control for men. But they're working on it. (Unfortunately, the way male physiology works, there is, to date, no way to stop sperm production without also causing impotence. Which rather defeats the purpose.)

8. no guys cant take the shot but there working on it there trying to make a male birthcontrol as we speak im not sure if it's the pill or shot crazy huh. i wouldnt suggest it my friend joke the guy might end up with boobs lol
